Liquid Glucosamine For Dogs & Cats

Liquid Glucosamine For Dogs & Cats, With Chondroitin, MSM & Grape Seed Extract

Maybe you have a senior dog or cat who’s just not as mobile as he used to be?

Or perhaps you’ve seen signs of limping or lameness?

In either case, it’s likely he has some form of joint problem, which will not only slow him down, but probably also cause pain too.

It used to be the case that dogs started to have problems such as canine arthritis and joint pain when they got older, but these days, younger and younger dogs are encountering more and more of these issues earlier on in life.

And while feline arthritis is less common, cats can still sufffer from it, just like dogs.

There are also hereditary conditions, such as hip dysplasia, that can cause problems, in pets of all ages.

So, what can you do about it, and how can you prevent it happening in the first place?

Well, let’s tackle the first question to begin with.

Treating Feline & Canine Arthritis / Joint Pain

If you ask your average vet, you’ll be advised to give your pet a bunch of prescription drugs (which contain chemicals, remember, so that’s synonymous with multiple side-effects), and/or surgery.

As you should know by now, BeMedFree.com® never recommends anything that isn’t natural, so that means we cannot support the use of drugs that may cause additional problems, over and above the ones your pet is already facing.

And surgery is not only very expensive, but it’s not always guaranteed to solve the problem. True, it may eliminate symptoms – for a while – but often those issues return some time later, and then you’re back to square one (except for the gaping hole in your bank account).

So, what do we recommend?

You shouldn’t be surprised to learn that we only use natural solutions with our own doggies, and in the case of joint pain, etc., then our product of choice is a combination of glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM.

Each of these ingredients has been shown to alleviate many health problems, but when used together, they:

  1. Improve mobility.
  2. Reduce joint pain and inflammation.
  3. Enhance the ability to create collagen.
  4. Assist in the building and repair of damaged cartilage.
  5. Stimulate the production of synovial fluid (which helps lubricate joints).
  6. Alleviate symptoms of hip dysplasia.
  7. Help prevent arthritis.
  8. Ensure optimum skin and coat condition.
  9. Promote overall good health.

Liquid Glucosamine For Dogs & Cats From BeMedFree.com®

Liquid Glucosamine For Dogs & Cats from BeMedFree.com®

We’ve found this combination to be so effective that we had a custom formulation made especially for us – by a company who has been in the natural health business for over 90 years.

We had them make this into a super-strength formula, to make sure that your pet gets maximum benefit from these proven ingredients.

And to make this product even more potent, we also had them add in some grape seed extract, which is a powerful natural antioxidant. (While the flesh of grapes is dangerous to both dogs and cats, the extract made from the grape seeds is not only safe but beneficial too.)

(Anti-oxidants help strengthen the immune system, which is crucial to keeping your pet healthy, they fight off free radicals, and they even help slow down the aging process.)

So here is how much of these four ingredients are contained in each fluid ounce of our liquid glucosamine product:

  • 1,500 mg of Glucosamine
  • 1,500 mg of MSM
  • 1,200 mg of Chondroitin
  • 25 mg of Grape Seed Extract

Why Liquid Glucosamine?

If you’re wondering why we chose a liquid product instead of tablets or chewables, it’s because liquids are absorbed more easily than any other format, and that, in turn, will mean your dog or cat should start feeling better much faster.

Not only is it easier for your pet to absorb, but it’s also really easy to administer. You can:

  • Give it to them neat, on a spoon, which our own doggies are happy to lick every drop right off.
  • Mix it in with their food – we also add their daily dose of this product to their plate of “bonus” food (i.e. items we allocate from our own meals as treats for them, e.g. a little properly cooked meat, but never raw, certain types of fruit & veg, but NO grapes/prunes/raisins, garlic, onion, etc. as these things are largely indigestible for dogs and cats and can cause lots of problems).
  • Mix it with some fruit juice/fruit smoothies – which our dogs also love.

(If you get the impression our dogs will eat or drink almost anything, then you’d be right.)

How Long Will One Bottle Last?

It contains 16 fluid ounces, and because the dosage depends on the weight of your pet, this can last anywhere from 16 days to over a year.

Are There Any Other Ingredients?

As you’ll see from the image to the right (which you can enlarge by clicking on it), our Liquid Glucosamine For Dogs & Cats also contains purified water, vanilla flavoring, and a tiny amount of potassium sorbate (which is used as a preservative).

Note: even though there is a preservative in our product, we still highly recommend that you store it in a refrigerator after opening it. (You can also refrigerate it before opening if you want, which is what we do, but it’s not necessary – the product has a shelf life of about two years, and we only have small batches manufactured at any one time.)

Safety Warnings

Even though this product is very safe, we do have a few words of caution for you:

  1. You should never exceed the recommended dosage.
  2. You MUST make sure you give the appropriate dosage based on whether you have a cat or a dog – the dosage for dogs is far too high for cats’ delicate systems. Full dosage instructions are on the bottle, but just in case the bottle you order has one of our older labels, which does not include the dosage for cats, then everything you need to know will be sent to your Amazon email address as soon as your order ships.
  3. The product does contain shellfish derivatives (the glucosamine comes from crab and shrimp shell), so in the unlikely event that your pet has an allergic reaction, please stop administering this product immediately and take him to your vet to have him checked out.

On a positive note, and in keeping with our philosophy of staying away from chemicals whenever we can, the bottle itself is BPA-free.

Note: the product statements on this page have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease.

What About Prevention?

We’re glad you reminded us.

Yes, if you want your pet to enjoy a long and healthy life, and not suffer from the aches and pains that many of us (erroneously) assume is a necessary part of growing older, then you need to start off on the right foot.

So, not only can our Liquid Glucosamine For Dogs & Cats be used to treat older animals who are already suffering, but it can also be used on younger dogs and cats, even puppies and kittens, to make sure their joints remain healthy from the get-go.

What Do Our Customers Say?

This is what Sheilah S. had to say:

Sheilah S. with Kira

Rae & Mark,

I love this product! I was waiting a little while so I could see how it worked before emailing you. My 15yr old cat started having problems walking with his arthritis. I found this on Amazon as I was researching what to give him. First, I love that it is all natural. My dog Kira, the youngest of my animals at 9, used to have seizures and I started her on all natural food. Then my cats refused to eat their food, so I switched them. Now I eat cleaner and have started cooking for them too!

Second, I love that I can give it to both my cats and my dog. Like I said, my dog is the youngest at 9 and I’ve been giving it to all of them. After about a month, my 15yr old cat has no trouble walking whatsoever! I’ve also noticed that the dog has more energy on our hikes and isn’t having as much trouble getting in and out of the Jeep.

I will be ordering another bottle here in a couple of weeks and maybe a couple more for people I have told about it! Now the only question/problem I have is…can I take it too? LOL I need something extra to keep up with them now!!!!

Thank you for all your emails, great customer service and 10% off!

Sheilah

And here’s what Terry L. had to say:

Joe

I can’t thank you enough for the results Joe has experienced over the past several weeks. If you could have seen how hard Joe was trying to walk in pain, his back legs were so sore than he would cry whenever I would rub them.

Today, thanks to your product, Joe has shown no signs of pain when he walks or climbs upon his stool or his bed. He actually runs more now since the pain has been almost eliminated. I have noticed such a large change in his daily life.

It a pleasure to make a comment about a product such as yours that really works and I want as many people as I can reach to know that this product is a must for anybody who has an animal that suffers from joint pain.

I hope your business grows to cover even more potential cat and dog owners who as I have been searching for medicine not always available at the Vet hospital.

Thanks again for your help and I know my cat Joe thanks you too.

Have a great day,

Terry

  1. I am so thankful for this product! My best friend Miko turned 15 last April 12th 2015, Her hips were getting so bad she couldn’t stand up by herself. I was told by a good friend about this product and tried it…
Within just a few days we could see a huge change in her. She was eating again and actually was able to stand up again…It’s been 5 weeks
now and I’m about to order another bottle. Miko is very mobile now and is almost able to trot..
Thank you so much for having this awesome product available.

    • Albert,

Thank you so much for posting your review of our Liquid Glucosamine product.

We are, of course, delighted that Miko is so much more mobile now.

      Best wishes,

      Rae & Mark

  2. My 18-year-old cat was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and has started Hill’s y/d diet. The people at Hill’s said that bemedfree glucosamine product had not been tested for iodine, so they couldn’t recommend continued use. Does the product contain iodine (either from the vanilla flavoring or because of the seafood shells)? Is there an independent test result? Thanks.

    • Dyan,

      Thanks for your question.

We will have to double-check with the company who manufactures this custom formulation for us and get back to you as soon as we get a responsse.

      Rae & Mark

    • Dyan,

According to our manufacturer, there is no iodine in this product.

  3. Hi. I’m on my second or third bottle of the Extra Strength Liquid Glucosamine for Dogs & Cats. My 16-year-old big/long/tall Norwegian Forest Cat does great on it, and I immediately notice a decline in his mobility if I skip a few days. He began leaping to places he hadn’t leapt for years a couple of weeks after I first began giving him ¾ teaspoon with breakfast. Amazing results!

Now that I have a new, unopened bottle again, I’m wondering if I can divide this into multiple sterile containers and freeze it. I have limited space in my refrigerator for the big 16 fl. oz. bottle, and I do also worry a tad about it getting contaminated with a fleck of cat food falling inside when opening the same big bottle a minimum of 128 times, if I give him the ¾ teaspoon each day. I don’t imagine that there would be any issues with storing some in the freezer, but thought I’d check first. Thanks!

    • Kristin,

Thanks for your feedback – we’re delighted to hear that you kitty is benefitting from our liquid glucosamine product.

As for your question, we didn’t see any problems in freezing it, but to be on the safe side, we checked with the company who manufacture this custom formulation for us, and they don’t see any issues either. However, it would be best to let it thaw naturally (i.e. don’t apply any heat to speed up the process).

  4. I actually have a question: I have a 19 year old cat with severe arthritis. Can I administer this liquid directly into her mouth with a dropper?? I can’t put it in her food because she will not eat it when she realizes something has been added to her food.

    • Kyra,

Yes, we have had several customers who have successfully used an eye dropper to administer our Liquid Glucosamine directly into their pet’s mouth.

It’s important, especially for cats, that you get a calibrated one, given the the feline dosage amounts can be quite small, and that you use a plastic eye dropper and not a glass one, for safety reasons.

This is the one we usually recommend to our customers:

      http://BeMedFree.com/recommends/EyeDropper.php

      • Thank you so much…I am going to purchase this, and let you know if it works for my cat or not. Have a blessed Thanksgiving

  5. I am using a prescription product called ostilox for my rabbit. Is it safe to replace this with this product? I purchased it for my dog, but want to try it with the rabbit as the ostilox seems to giving her some diarrhea. Thanks.

    • Robin,

We assume from your question here that you didn’t receive our response when you asked this question via Amazon, so sorry about that.

According to our research, all of the ingredients in our Liquid Glucosamine For Dogs & Cats (i.e. glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, and grape seed extract) are safe for rabbits.

However, we would recommend using the dosage chart for cats, and not the one for dogs.

      • Thank you so very much. Would you mind posting the cat dosage? I cannot tread the bottle. Many thanks!

        • Robin,

No problem – here’s the information you need:

          Dosage For Cats:

          Under 5 lbs (2.27 kg): 1/4 tsp (1.25 ml.)
          5 – 10 lbs (2.27 – 4.54 kg): 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml.)
          11 – 15 lbs (4.55 – 6.80 kg): 3/4 tsp (3.75 ml.)
          Over 15 lbs (6.80 kg): 1 tsp (5 ml.)

(You can also see the full dosage instructions here: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/715eY1xpAxL._SL1237_.jpg)

Note: as these doses for cats can be very small, you might want to consider using a small eye dropper, which is calibrated in 1/10 ml increments, to ensure you administer the correct amount. (Search for B0015C9FI0 on Amazon as one example of the sort of product – which is not one of ours – we recommend.) However, never put an eye dropper directly in an animal’s mouth – not only could it be dangerous if it breaks (e.g. if it’s made of glass), but if your pet has some sort of disease you don’t yet know about, you could contaminate the contents of the bottle and spread whatever it is to any other pets you have. So, always put the drops in some other liquid or food first.

    • Are you able to use this for rabbits even though the glucosamine comes from shellfish and the chondroitin comes from cow trachea?

      • Christie,

We know you directed this question at Robin, but here’s our response in the meantime.

While we appreciate that it’s usually better to give only vegetarian products to a vegetarian animal, we have heard of an exotic vet who advised that the protein content in such supplements is too low to cause problems, and we do know of other rabbit owners giving glucosamine / chondroitin supplements that were designed for cats (as ours is) to their rabbits without any issues.

However, ours is not a vegetarian formula, as you found, so if you think your bunnies may have allergic reactions to shellfish, then this will probably not be suitable.

If you’re not sure, we would suggest trying a small dose to start with. The cat dosage is already small and is designed for small animals, but if you want to be ultra-cautious, begin with half the cat dosage and see how they fare, but obviously if you see any sort of adverse reaction, stop immediately.
If everything seems to be going fine, you can gradually increase the dosage to the full cat dosage, based on your rabbits’ weight.

It usually takes about four weeks to see improvements, although some see benefits sooner, while with other animals it does take longer – depending, for example, on their age, the severity of the problem and how long they’ve been suffering from it, and their weight.

The easiest way to give this is to mix it in with some food they already like, but if this is not possible for any reason, a small, gradated feeding syringe works well too.

Finally, do not mix this product with any type of prescription or OTC drugs because that may also cause an adverse reaction.

We hope this helps, but we too look forward to hearing what Robin has to say.

  6. Thanks!
